The phrase “success begets success” isn’t just a tired old maxim – it’s a demonstrable phenomenon that you can tune into by honing your victory radar. It might sound a little cheesy, but believe me – the stronger your victory radar is, the more success you’ll see coming into your life and your real estate career.
Here’s what I want you to do…
For the next week, take a few minutes at the end of each day to record five separate victories you’ve had during the day. These can be big things, like signing a listing contract or closing a sale, or they can be small things, like prospecting for a full hour (even when you had other things you’d rather be doing). The size of your wins doesn’t matter – what’s important is that you make it a habit of identifying and celebrating these successes as they occur.
Now, what I think you’ll be surprised to find is that, the better you get at identifying these little wins in your life, the more frequently you’ll see them start to occur. That’s because, when you start identifying and cataloging your successes, you start creating them more often – all because you’ve put a message into the universe that says, “I’m supposed to be winning!”
Essentially, turning on your victory radar turns you into a magnet for success. You attract success because you’ve focused your energy on finding these wins when they occur. You no longer attract failures because you’ve stopped focusing on them – it really is as simple as that.
For some of you, this process will be easy. I fully expect that there will be people reading this blog post who are able to write down far more than five wins on any given day (and I encourage you to do so if you find yourself in this position).
However, I also know that there will be readers who try to implement this daily habit, only to give up, saying, “It’s too hard! I struggle for x, y and z reasons, so there’s no way I’ll be able to find five wins every day!”
Here’s the thing about “hard”… Hard is a story we create for ourselves. The words that we use when talking to ourselves have a tremendous amount of power, because they send a message to both our subconscious and the universe. When we tell ourselves that something is too hard, we’re priming our minds to expect a struggle. The mind plays along with this – creating a struggle when there wouldn’t have been one otherwise.
But don’t worry – you can avoid this entirely by telling your mind a different story. Instead of saying that something’s hard, frame the tasks you struggle with as fun challenges that must be overcome. You aren’t fighting a losing battle – you’re valiantly overcoming an adventurous obstacle that’ll lead you to even higher peaks of success. Doing so changes the emotions that you subconsciously engage, turning frustration and dread into excitement and anticipation.
Remember, the greater the challenge, the greater the eventual reward will be. Repeatedly telling yourself that you face struggles you’ll never be able to overcome prevents you from ever accessing the great rewards waiting for you at the end of your efforts. By commanding your subconscious to focus on the potential upside of your challenges and activating your victory radar every single day, you’ll slay these mental demons and experience far greater success throughout your real estate career.
I was so impressed with the progression and success of my clients that I made this video:
