5 More Tech Tools All Real Estate Agents Need

On Tuesday, I showed you how I use the Evernote program to manage everything from showing details to client communications and more. But that got me thinking… What other tech tools should make an appearance in your real estate arsenal? And while the list that follows isn’t at all comprehensive, I think it represents a great tech tools starting point for agents who want to use the power of technology in their practices.

That said, here are my top five tech tools that I think all real estate agents need:

1 – Realty Juggler

Essentially, Realty Juggler is a customer relationship management (CRM) tool that’s specifically designed for use by real estate agents. And I don’t think I’m exaggerating when I say that the program does just about everything you’d want it to when it comes to managing your properties and customers. For example, a few of the programs features include:

  • The ability to “track prospects, clients, listings, showings, offers, open houses, promotions and closings.” It’s basically a one-stop shop for all your data management needs.
  • Custom graphic letterhead management, as well as the ability to import, create and export contracts and other real estate documents.
  • Real estate calculators (including maximum loan, rent versus buy and others) that can be used in real-time during your customer appointments.

The program retails for a well-worth-it $99/year, though you can give Realty Juggler a test drive free for 90 days before committing to the purchase.

2 – Carbonite

Is there anything quite so scary as the thought of a computer crash wiping out all of your hard-won business data? Well, wipe that fear from your mind! For $59/year (or less, if you purchase multi-year or multi-computer packages), Carbonite runs in the background of your computer, automatically backing up all of your files to a secure online system.

If your hard drive crashes for any reason, restoring your files to a new computer is as easy as a few clicks of the mouse. But even if this worst case scenario doesn’t come to pass, you’ll still enjoy the ability to access any file on your computer from the program’s internet login – no matter where in the world you are!

3 – CardMunch

I’m a big fan of working efficiently and saving time – which is why I’m such a big fan of CardMunch!

CardMunch is a free LinkedIn app for the iPhone that allows you to automatically import new LinkedIn contacts by simply taking a picture of any business card you receive. It’s a simple, time-saving solution to the problem of constant data entry needs (although I wish it was available for Android devices and iPads as well!). CamCard is the most comparable Android App with a free trial version and a paid version that is very powerful.

4 – JotForm

JotForm is an easy to use web form builder that will take you from form design to website installation in a matter of minutes (seriously – no registrations or trial periods required!). Just a few of the different ways you could use this program include:

  • Creating simple lead generation forms for your website.
  • Collecting and organizing lead information while on the go.
  • Carrying out customer surveys that’ll allow you to tailor your services to your clients’ needs.

Best of all, the program offers a totally free version that allows you to use its full features and accept up to 100 monthly submissions without a charge. After that, plans are available starting at just $9.95/month that will give you access to more storage space and form submissions.

5 – Around Me

Finally, one of my favorite “in the field” tools is a little program called Around Me – an iOS app that identifies your location and pulls up the nearest banks, bars, gas stations, restaurants, supermarkets, movie theaters and more.

Not only do I use it to find nearby coffee shops if I’ve got time to kill in new neighborhoods, it’s a great way to help buyers who are relocating to new areas to get a feel for their surrounding areas. Instead of leaving prospective buyers wondering what’s nearby or what their day-to-day lives will be like, Around Me gives them a quick overview that clears up confusion and allows prospects to focus more clearly on the benefits of every home we tour.
